Brandywine Stables, LLC specializes in developing and managing racing and breeding partnerships focusing on modestly-priced horses that can compete favorably in state-bred programs.  These partnerships are designed primarily for two types of owners:

1.  New owners that want to start in thoroughbred ownership by delegating responsibility for selecting and managing the racehorse or breeding stock to an experienced professional manager while they learn more about the details of the business,

OR

2.  More experienced owners that want to participate in thoroughbred ownership on a limited basis without taking full responsibility for selecting and managing the racehorse or breeding stock.

A Brandywine Partnership is a group of investors, the purpose of which is to acquire and develop thoroughbred horses to race, breed, or otherwise utilize for profit in a manner determined by the partners.  The Partnership offers participants the opportunity of owning only part of a racehorse or breeding stock and delegating the management of day-to-day activities to an experienced general manager.

Brandywine Stables Partnerships are structured as Indiana Limited Liability Companies (LLC’s) with Brandywine owning at least 25% interest and, generally, three other members each owning 25% interest.

Management of the partnership includes:

Obtaining the racehorse or breeding stock

Preparing partnership documents

Establishing and maintaining financial activities for the partnership

Preparing annual budget, quarterly financial statements and annual tax returns

Maintaining mortality and liability insurance

Scheduling and maintaining records of partnership business meetings

Providing timely status reports

Engaging trainers and other professionals such as accountants, veterinarians and farriers

Developing, in consultation with other professionals, a racing or breeding strategy for the partnership horse

Maintaining licensing, registration records and stakes race eligibility

Notifying partners of race schedules and results
